I'm a bit shocked to see how long it has been since I wrote anything, More than 2 months to be exact but here I am, alive and feeling so much better than I have in a very long time.
First off, here is finish Number 7 of the year. Croakworth in an ultra Modern quilt colourway of DMC 3853, 3854 and 3866 with CC Hunter Green froggies. This is on a piece of Silkweaver hand-dyed 28ct Lugana Tropical Breeze and it's actually more turquoise than the photo shows.
As ever with Ink Circles designs, thoroughly relaxing to stitch and incredibly quick. If I'd put my mind to it, it would have been about 3 days but it took just about 2 weeks with distractions.
I'm still trying to tally up my Ink Circles finishes but I think that this might be the 18th with the 19th already on its way.
I keep threatening to stitch Octopus' Garden so here it is. On a piece of Polstitches opalescent Blue Moon with DMC, this is my current travel piece.
It's replaced Pins and Needles because I need to find a whole huge pile of DMC threads to complete the piece that have been misplaced while the Great Clean Up carried on. They are in here somewhere .....

Sadly no progress on any Chatelaine recently, mainly due to distractions but Mel's RR has arrived safely with me and it's being worked on each evening. This has taken just over a week and it's a lot further on than this 4 day old photo. the bottom of the skirt is complete and I'm now rapidly approaching her neck. Once she's done I'll hop over to her hubby and hopefully he'll come together as fast, then the whole thing will be heading to Kay.
What else. I'm going to admit to my distractions. There are three main ones.
Twitter is a real biggie but I keep it running in the background and there are some very good conversations going on and friendship being made and maintained. I love it - I find Facebook to be very bitty but Twitter is much more of a conversation with a vast room of like minded characters.
Pinterest is a huge distraction - I have to limit myself to short bursts because there are so many beautiful things on there. Anyone wanting an invite feel free to ask.
The third one is my love of quilting which is not a new thing but actually dates back 30 years.

My love of playing with colour and fabric is well known but there are so many contemporary designers and fabric around that there are limitless options. The combination of quilting and social media led me into the
Denyse Schmidt Single Girl Support Group on Flickr. This group features 277 like minded nut-cases. I have had complete nightmares over my quilt but once the depression cleared and the logic side of my brain re-engaged, Actually building the top was simple. It just needed a lot of pins, unpicking and creative language. It is done in all its purple majesty. Better photos to come as I'm heading to my friends to hand it from her longer and higher washing line to get a better shot!
On that note, I'm off to play with dogs and washing lines for a bit
